Last time i heard DZ play watermelons was at the beacon theater i think. There were some tech problems with the audio, it was a standard closing number. I never heard him play it again live. I miss it. I hope it returns to a setlist and we meet again soon.
Over the COVID break I watched a great video of black napkins from the u of Hawaii ...that band was awesome...great job for joining them and supporting them...all the best... dd
Very nice delay on the sax. Was that from the house mics or from those AKG 414's SR & SL?
Hi John,
It's mostly coming from F.O.H. ambience processing. The 414s are mostly for feeding audience into our onstage in ear mix.
Dweezil - The "liner notes" dates and locations are appreciated. Have you thought about a "Watermelon In Easter Hay" trilogy?
I'll probably get around to that at some point!

Seen that , very cool
If it’s the Hilo Jazz Orchestra you’re referring to, there is a whole 2 hour show.
That’s the one rich...great stuff
This was so chill! Loved the great relaxed feel of both versions!
I am all about the horns in Black Napkins #2!
